FEBRUARY MIDWEEK RUN – Romsey
Unfortunately due to extreme heat, very strong winds and potential for fire in the area,
as well as the effect the extreme heat may have on our classic cars
I have had to revise our plans for Wednesday’s Run.
After consultation with the executive of the club,
I feel that it would be irresponsible to take a group into a potentially dangerous situation.
I have planned a different outing closer to home,
and please feel free to bring a modern air conditioned car if you would rather do that.
We will still meet at the clubrooms,
but 9.30am departure would be suitable now we are not traveling so far.
We will have morning Tea at Bourkies BakeHouse
115 High Street, Woodend
Then Roger will lead us on a leisurely drive of his choosing finishing up in Romsey.
I was fortunate to be able to secure a large booking at short notice at the beautiful
1860 Hotel in Romsey at 119 Main St
The 1860 Romsey-Victoria
So please all those that were coming along still come.
I have booked for 24 people. They have a seniors menu, and the hotel has only recently reopened.
The new owners have made extensive repairs, and alterations carefully maintaining and enhancing the historic features of what was Romseys original Hotel, opened in 1860.
My apologies to anyone who has a problem with this change but I felt it was necessary, to keep us all safe. As far as I am aware this is the first time ever, we have had to change the Mid Week Run at such short notice.
If this change means that you will not be coming on the run please let me know on [email protected]
so I can let the Hotel know the correct numbers.
