On Sunday, August 3rd, some members of our club attended the Maldon Gothic Festival.
The Maldon Gothic Festival, also known as Goldfields Gothic: Festival of Dark Ideas, is a three-day event held in Maldon, Victoria, that celebrates the darker aspects of the gold rush era. The festival explores intriguing historical stories about spiritualists, secret societies, bushrangers, and more, presenting them through music, fashion, art, and various performances.
A highlight of the event is the hearse procession, which is part of the Australian Hearse Nationals. This procession takes place through the streets of Maldon. The festival is family-friendly and encourages participation from people of all ages.
It might be an idea to put this in our Calendar of Events for a club run next year.
Thanks to Pam Amezdroz for the photos.
