It’s that time of year again when a group of dedicated Ford enthusiasts jumps into a couple of Chryslers and heads north to the border for the Annual Mopar Festival in Wodonga. This year, the same group of eight made the trip: Adam – El Presidente, Brian Jay, Gino Auto Tricks, Eric, Johnny Precise, Peter S, and our Pentastar hosts, Steve P. and Simon P.

Our lunch stop this year was at Glenrowan Bakery, a recommendation from Brian, Adam, and Eric. Tired of the usual Maccas pit stop, they hit the jackpot with this choice. From now on, it’ll be our go-to lunch spot for every trip. Adam even snapped a hilarious photo of a blue Dodge Phoenix parked at an EV charging station, making it look like he had the charging plug attached to its fuel filler!

The weekend was another scorcher, filled with refreshing swims in the Belvoir Village Motel pool and gulping down plenty of lime and cucumber-infused water. On Friday night, we indulged in some hearty steaks and ribs at Edwards Tavern. And yes, there may have been a vegetarian in the group who… well, who really cares what he ate!

Bright and early Saturday, we headed to the car show at Gateway Lakes in Wodonga, followed by a visit to the Ettamogah Pub in Albury. After another dip in the motel pool, we settled down for dinner in Albury. This year, we decided to go a bit upscale and tried Downtown Pizzeria, which did not disappoint. The wood-fired pizzas were absolutely fantastic! We rounded off the evening with a bit of cruising, only to do it all over again on Sunday.

While at the car show, Adam El Presidente and I ran into one of the Albury Wodonga Chrysler Club committee members. Some people wear their hearts on their sleeves, but this guy was proudly displaying Adam’s GT on his T-shirt! Adam didn’t hold back in expressing how proud he felt to have his car showcased by a Chrysler driver. Just so you know, he was sporting our 2024 Hanging Rock t-shirt.

Everyone had a fantastic weekend, and we’re all looking forward to 2026—hopefully with a few more friends joining us next time.

Everyone had another great weekend and we are already looking forward to 2026 and hopefully a few more joining us.

See you all at the club,

Thanks to Simon for this account of another eventful trip!
